In order to implement an ambitious policy to promote equality and diversity in our School, an Equality and Diversity Mission has been created at Centrale Lyon ENISE. Its mission is to promote equality and diversity among staff and students.
The mission is deployed along two main lines:
- Propose and implement actions in favor of equality, based on the actions recommended in the charter "For equality between women and men" adopted by the Conference of University Presidents, the Conference of Grandes Écoles, the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Women's Rights.
- Promote actions to combat discrimination in schools, whether related to gender, morality, sexual orientation, age, origin, disability, nationality, religion or culture..
The "Action for equality" group
This is a working group that was formed voluntarily by Centrale Lyon ENISE staff members in February 2018. A place for exchange and work for equality and diversity at Centrale Lyon ENISE, it is a source of proposals and actions.
The success of this mission is based on the contribution of staff and students in order to carry out awareness-raising, actions and support:
- Organize awareness-raising seminars and conferences on the issue of equality between women and men as well as any other form of discrimination
- Inform about the rights of victims of sexual and gender-based violence and harassment, as well as the help they can receive
- Promote training initiatives on issues such as the demands of LGBTQI+ minorities (lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex and the "+" includes the many other terms designating genders and sexualities)
- Produce a gendered inventory for the various populations within the university (teaching-research staff, administrative staff, students) and monitor changes
- Promote measures to encourage all courses to have a gender-balanced student composition
- Favor proportional presentation of women and men in all bodies, at all levels, for all categories
- Develop training courses that address gender equality issues and integrate the gender dimension
.
- Take care not to penalize the progress of studies or the careers of staff due to family obligations, maternity (and other situations: single-parent families, disabled children, ...)
- Provide support for victims of sexual, sexist and discriminatory violence and harassment
- Be vigilant with regard to situations potentially conducive to violence
